HB 3186
State lawmakers ponder a proposal that would make it legal to wager on live or electronic poker. It would also allow charitable poker for qualified groups. A bill proposed by Representative Jose Menendez would legalize licensed Texas Hold 'Em wagering in Texas.

Great News!!!
HB 3186 was voted out of the House Licensing and Administrative Procedures Committee. This bill is on the calendar for 05/09/2007. HB 3186 is listed 44th out of 45 bills. We really need to hammer our representatives and let them know that we are serious about this bill. I think that we have a good chance if we can just get a vote on this bill. Everyone should use the House Website to get your representatives phone number and give them a call tomorrow. Maybe we should call tonight and leave a message as well.

When I first heard about the bill that was being proposed by Mr. Menendez, I thought to my self, what can I do to help get something like this passed. I received an email from the poker players alliance inviting me to meet at the capital. I was prepared to go, but because of prior engagements I was not able to make it. I was not happy with my self for not doing something about an issue that I truly believe in. This is the reason why I created this website. I thought that if I provided an easy way for my lazy poker player friends to contact their representatives, they just might do so. Use the web form provided on the left to contact your representative and let them know that you support HB 3186. This web form uses the Texas House of Representatives website to send the messages. Make sure to provide all of the required information since it is required by the House of Representatives website.
